These 3 Up-And-Coming Fashion Brands Have The Cardi B Co-Sign

The FADER cover star stays showing love to her faves across the fashion spectrum.

July 06, 2017

One of the many, many things that makes Cardi B so exciting to follow is her ability to pull off looks that exist on any level of the spectrum. She'll go Balenciaga from head to toe for her "Bodak Yellow" video, then turn around "looking all Christmas gift wrapped, looking all Turkey" in Fashion Nova, with pride. We're here for it — as she glides effortlessly between levels of fashion, Cardi pushes badass, up-and-coming brands to the forefront.

Here are three of our favorite examples.

As you can see above, Cardi reps Human Aliens in her caption and looks damn good doing so. This anime-inspired, GHE20G0TH1K-esque brand produces killer bodysuits, tees, and skirts, with lots of lace-up elements, cut-outs, and bold graphics. Stylist Mikiel Benyamin, a.k.a. Maikeeb Kills, is responsible for this dope look, which can be purchased here.

Cardi killed it in this bodysuit look. It's designed by Nate White, the mastermind behind Nene L.A. Shiro, which is known for intricate bodysuits, minidresses, and gowns. It's worth mentioning that White is a Brooklyn-native — it's only natural that sense for Cardi to support a fellow New Yorker.

Namilia

The baddest @iamcardib performs in NYC wearing @_namilia_ @louboutinworld styled by moi 💅🏽

Here we have Cardi looking like a full-on sculpture thanks to Namilia, a dope, sex positive streetwear brand. Namilia has been getting a lot of play these days, especially from artists, which is likely to do with the pieces having a performative element to them.
