“We are disappointed to have to end today’s performances early, however our first priority is the safety of our fans, staff and artists,” Sandee Fenton of Lollapalooza promoters C3 Presents told the Chicago Sun Times.

Muse, Lil Uzi Vert, and Porter Robinson were also scheduled to play at the festival prior to its early closure. Muse made it onto the stage and expressed similar sentiments to Lorde in having to leave early.

Lollapalooza is scheduled to continue until August 6, with performance due from Chance The Rapper, Arcade Fire, The Killers, The xx, and more. There has been no official statement from organizers if the bad weather will affect the schedule going forwards. The FADER had reached out for more details.
