The last week has seen volume of natural destruction in the United States that broke records and happened in a seemingly endless thread of phenomenal disasters, ones that no longer can be called phenomenons. Hurricanes ravaged homes from the Caribbean to Florida, Texas to Mexico. Global flooding crises, spanning continents, raging fires and foundation shaking earthquakes. They served as preview to the coming effects of climate change.
Now in the wake of such devastating and deadly destruction, people all over the world are in need of relief. During the Hand In Hand Hurricane Relief Telethon, over $14 million was raised to support the victims of these disasters and provide, as Matthew McConaughey said "help finding the next step forward."
If you missed the telethon but still want to donate to the relief fund, you can head to Hand In Hand's website or call 1 (800) 258-6000, or text GIVE to 80077 to give $25. You can also shop the program's merchandise to donate.
The proceeds will go to organizations such as United Way, Feeding Florida, Feeding Texas, Direct Relief and Save The Children.
