TMZ's sources claim that The Weeknd had already left the venue before the incident, and that his "inner circle" was not involved. The accused are reported to be "temporary employees" on the tour, and may have recorded the attack. A complaint was filed on September 20 with police, who are currently investigating.
Live Nation and XO shared a joint statement to TMZ:
"Upon learning of the accusations that two members of our tour staff are facing, we immediately terminated their employment. We are working with the authorities to ensure they have access to any information or assistance they may need."
A rep for The Weeknd declined to offer additional comment to The FADER.
