Chance The Rapper took to Instagram to livestream a traffic stop in Chicago on Sunday, October 8. In the video, Chance can be seen in the passenger seat while his daughter's mother Kirsten Corley is in the driver's seat.

"Just want y’all to be here in case it gets out of hand,” Chance says in the video. “Should be good though. Should be straight...I have great faith in humanity and the men and women that put on the badge, but, you know, you can’t be too careful.” Chance and Corley's daughter was also in the vehicle at the time of the stop.

“But policing as a system is disproportionately racist and oppressive,” he continued. “I ain’t got no [gun] in the car, no drugs in the car. Nothing going on, just came back from church.”

Illinois State Police told the Chicago Sun-Times that Chance and Corley were pulled over for a moving violation on Sunday around 1 p.m; Corley was issued a warning.

A representative for Chance The Rapper was not immediately available for comment.
