Dijon steps out with the lovelorn pop song “Stranger”

The other half of Abhi//Dijon gets sentimental on his first solo track.

Tenderhearted singer Dijon — who you may know as half of Maryland R&B duo Abhi//Dijon — has arrived with a sweet track of his own, called "Stranger." It's an open and downcast tune that captures the angst of a relationship in its final phase. Over wistful guitar chords, the singer mulls over the hypothetical in fear of a dulling spark between him and his lover. "What if you change? / And look at me like I'm a stranger," he sings.

"I've been working on writing more personal things dealing frankly with my anxiety," Dijon said over email. "The stripped down pop structure felt like a more vulnerable way to explore it rather than something moody and drawn out, and so I ran with that. I've heard it sounds a lot like Jesse McCartney but if he was a lot sadder."
