Pale Waves shares a creepy-sexy video for “My Obsession”

The U.K. band’s soaring pop track gets a twisted new visual.

I'm really into pretty much everything that's going on with British band Pale Waves, who just released their debut single "There's A Honey" this past spring. The four-piece has a My Chemical Romance aesthetic and a soaring late-'80s sound, plus a Kelly Clarkson-like essence I'm drawn to. "My Obsession" and its video — which is premiering today, and shows lead singer Heather Baron-Gracie in a Lars and the Real Girl situation — are a perfect example of this rising band's sweet spot.

“I wanted to create an uncomfortable, voyeuristic experience for the viewer," Heather wrote over email about the video. "To make them feel they are intruding on a world they shouldn’t be a part of. Ultimately, it is a representation of desperation, loneliness and grief.”
