At the end of November, rapper and YSL signee Gunna dropped Drip Or Drown, a collaborative tape with Atlanta producer Wheezy. An immediate standout from the project is “Don’t Give Up,” an experimentally booming, Wheezy-crafted beat that Gunna flips into an emotive anthem about remaining headstrong in tough times. On the hook, Gunna flexes his singing chops, his urgent “Don’t give up” sounding like the positive push one needs when nearing their wit’s end.

"This video is based on a true story,” Gunna shared with The FADER over email. It features a young Gunna and his mother going through tough times together, financially and otherwise. As he grows older over the course of the video, he overcomes a few hurdles, eventually proving to his mother he’s on a brighter path, able to take care of her and himself through music. It “shows and expresses to everyone in world that, even if you’re going through some hard times, just don’t give up — you can make it." Watch the video above, and listen to Drip or Drown here.
