She’s Gotta Have It renewed for a second season

Netflix has renewed She's Gotta Have It, the series based on Spike Lee's 1986 movie of the same name, for a second season, Deadline reports. Spike Lee announced the decision in a fireside chat on Instagram, where he was shortly followed by the series's star DeWanda Wise sharing her excitement as well.

"Back ta werq!" Wise captioned the post. "Season ✌🏾 is OFFICIAL!!! Can’t wait to return to BK."

The show, which premiered on Netflix on Thanksgiving, has received mostly positive reviews. Lee himself wrote most of the first season, and directed every episode.
