Mariah Carey returned to Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve for her second time around to ring in 2018. If you forgot, or just happened to miss the debacle last New Years Eve, Carey's performance last year was riddled with technical problems that she then blamed on Dick Clark Productions saying they "set her up to fail." A couple days later in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Carey said she was "mortified" by the performance. Meanwhile, Twitter got a hold of her flub and did not hold back on the criticism.
This time, you'll be happy to hear that Carey's performance went off without a hitch. She performed "Vision of Love" and "Hero," standing in below freezing weather in a very sparkly (and probably not warm) dress and fur coat and managed to sound great. And in true Mariah fashion, she paused briefly before her second song to ask for a cup of tea: "I just want to take a sip of tea if they'll let me. They told me there would be tea, oh, it's a disaster! Ok, well I guess we'll just have to rough it and I'll just be like everybody else with no hot tea!"
Honestly, after that performance, she deserves a piping hot cup of tea. Watch it above.
