Anita Baker announces final concert series before retirement
The R&B legend tweeted about the closing performances on New Year’s Day.
Esteemed singer Anita Baker is ending her music career, but not without a proper farewell. Last year in January, she debunked any hearsay of a final project in a tweet, saying, "Lotta rumors out there. No Tour. No CD. #Retired🎁 ." But on Monday, the 59-year-old icon had a change of heart and announced that after 35 years of pure love songs and albums, she'll be closing out her reign with a series of final concerts that are set to kick off in March. A full schedule isn't out yet, but it seems like she'll be at New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival in the spring.
