The NFL Network has announced that P!nk will be performing the National Anthem at the 2018 Super Bowl, which takes place on February 4 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. It will mark P!nk's first time performing at the event. In October, the NFL announced that Justin Timberlake would be the halftime performer.
The National Anthem has been a point of contention this season in the NFL, following Colin Kaepernick's protest, which began in 2016. When Kaepernick was not signed by a new team in the offseason, many say because of his protest, other players and teams took up his cause and kneeled during the National Anthem.
