Ought has a new album coming out in February. It's called Room Inside the World, and it's the Montreal art-punk crew's first full-length for Merge Records. Album cut "Disgraced in America," debuting above, is a bold burst of melodic punk; it's hinged on an upbeat, almost anxious-feeling tempo and an undercurrent of malaise.

The song's official video, also premiering above, features some truly gorgeous animation. "I wanted to create a video that morphed and visually changed in the same ways the song does," explained director Heather Rappard, who worked alongside animator Mike McDonnell on the clip. The pair thinned paint with glycerine so it never dried, a technique that helped create the uniqulely fluid style in which each section literally seems to spill into the next.

"We are completely honored and rocked by Heather and Mike’s work, and hope it can take you a few layers deeper," added Ought's frontman Tim Darcy, "where the clock ticks a bit slower and the drum fills are as big as billboards." Listen/watch above.
