Fredo Santana, a Chicago rapper and a key figure in ushering drill rap into music alongside his cousin Chief Keef, died Friday evening. He was 27 years old. TMZ reports that his death was caused by a fatal seizure, probably due to his lean and prescription drug addition, though that has not been confirmed as the official cause of death.
Since news of his death broke, rappers, friends, and family have been remembering Santana as a force of creativity and originality in innovating Chicago drill. Chief Keef, Drake, Yung Lean, Lil Durk, Joey Purp, and more have all posted remembrance messages on their social media accounts. We've gathered them all below in hopes to remember a man who was an invaluable force in hip-hop. RIP to a legend.
