Oprah Winfrey has distanced herself from rumors of a 2020 run for president, telling InStyle "I don’t have the DNA for it.”

Suggestion that Oprah could be a viable Democratic candidate gathered pace following a rousing speech at this year's Golden Globes. The rumor was aided by her partner, Stedman Graham, who told the Los Angeles Times “she would absolutely do it.”

However, in a new interview, which CNN points out was conducted prior to the Globes, Oprah said she will not be looking to replace Donald Trump in the White House. “I’ve always felt very secure and confident with myself in knowing what I could do and what I could not,” she is quoted as saying. “And so it’s not something that interests me. I don’t have the DNA for it.”

Oprah revealed in the interview that someone approached her to help with any possible campaign. However, she agreed with best friend Gayle King who told her "It wouldn’t be good for you, it would be good for everyone else."

It's unclear if Oprah has changed her mind between the InStyle interview and the response to her Golden Globes speech.
