The Free Nationals recruit Mac Miller, Kali Uchis, and Daniel Caesar for debut album

The group expects its new record to be out in the summer.

The Free Nationals, best known as Anderson .Paak's backing band, has revealed details of their star-studded debut album.

The group told Triple J that they have worked with Mac Miller, Kali Uchis, and Daniel Caesar on their first full-length. They are also hopeful that T.I. and New Zealand band Unknown Mortal Orchestra will appear on the project.

“It’s almost done,” guitarist Jose Rios said of the album. “Next couple of months it should be out… before [June/July]. We’re putting the finishing touches on it right now.”

Speaking in the same interview Anderson .Paak revealed plans of his own, saying he will release a new album at some point in 2018.
