Towkio will be the first rapper to drop his album from space, in the sense that space is everything above Earth. In this case, it's a helium balloon 10,000 feet above terra. At a show recorded last week, the Chicago artist announced the unconventional release to a joyful crowd, adding in a tweet "Tomorrow @ 11:11 am cst I make history. I go up 100,000 ft dropping my album from space. Pray for me 🙏🏽 I love u❤️"

The album, titled WWW, is his debut studio album, following a string of mix tapes including 2016's EP Community Service 2. He's already released three singles from the project, which he told DJ Booth is centered around the sensation astronauts feel when they see Earth from space, called the Overview Effect.

"It’s the looking back at the earth," he explained. "It happens to astronauts when they leave the earth and they break the plane. It’s an out-of-body experience. They look back and see how precious it is because your life on Earth only exists on Earth. So all of the bullshit you deal with on a day-to-day basis, it instantly goes out the window when you leave the plane and you’re looking at the earth."
