Young pop impresario CuckooLander graduated college in London a few years ago and almost immediately joined up as a bassist for Charli XCX's touring band. In an email to The FADER, Cuckoolander explained the song's mythological roots. "Mercury is about the power of the mind," she said. "I took inspiration from ancient Alchemy which says "For Mercury is the spirit, sulfur is the soul, and salt is the body." - Paracelsus. The video is directed by Lucrecia Taormina and looks like a futuristic science experiment interpreting the battles that go on in the abyss of one’s own mind with Jamie Neales choreography.”
