"Chance," by London songwriter and producer New Machine and featuring the vocalist Hamzaa, is deceptively uplifting for a song about a past love. And its video, premiering today on The FADER, is fun as hell, too. It's got everything: soul-soothing backdrops, a cast of goofily adorable actors, an 8-ball, a giant furry cushion, oversized playing cards, and way more. All together, it strikes like the reel for a compelling single-camera sitcom about a quirky group of friends.
"This video was so natural and so much fun to shoot. Flew to L.A. for literally one day to shoot it at Milk Studios. The lyrics are specifically about past relationships and what could have been... but I didn’t want to be literal with the video, i just wanted something quirky, fun and simple," said New Machine of the Clare Gillen- and Brittney Scott-directed video.
Watch "Chance" above. May it bring you even a fraction of the joy it gave me.
