Prince’s memoirs will be released in 2018

A 50 page autobiographical manuscript by Prince will be published at the end of the year, Variety reports. The memoir was announced in March 2016 with the title The Beautiful Ones, shortly before Prince passed away from a fentanyl overdose.

Publishing agent Esther Newberg told Variety that Prince collaborated with author Dan Piepenbring on the work. Prince delivered "about 50 handwritten manuscript pages" to his publisher, and Newberg said the pages may be reproduced in the book.

The first press release for the memoirs from publishers Spiegel & Grau called the book "an unconventional and poetic journey through his life and creative work."
