Black Panther star Letitia Wright wowed at last night's Met Gala with her refreshing take on the night's theme of Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination with a custom Coach gown inspired by Ethiopian pastors. Wright’s stylist, Ade Samuel, spoke to Page Six about the concept, including how it took the Coach team six months and a team of five girls hand-beading and hand-stitching, to create.

“Letitia is a very religious person, so we wanted to stay true to who she is while also having fun with fashion. She decided she wanted to do an Ethiopian interpretation of Christianity. If you look closely at her dress, you’ll see the golden cloth and embroidery that was inspired by Ethiopian pastors’ clothing. We even decided to go with a traditional Ethiopian hairstyle, to keep the African theme going!”
