Anderson .Paak shared his new single "Bubblin" on Thursday, and spoke with Zane Lowe about the song and progress on his upcoming, untitled album.
The frenetic and fun "Bubblin" is produced by Jhalil Beats and Antman Wonder, one of "50 or 60" beats Jhalil sent over to Anderson .Paak. "I was just writing to all these beats and that was one of them that I just loved off top," he told Zane Lowe. "It sounded like some black 007 action adventure high speed chase type of music."
While his upcoming album doesn't have a release date, Paak said it wasn't for lack of material. "Listen to me, I have 65,000 songs in the vault," .Paak revealed to Zane Lowe on Beats 1 on Apple Music. "No features, fam. Some of them are acappella, no beats. 15-minute songs, my bro. Trust me, I’m good fam."
Dr. Dre, president of Paak's label Aftermath, will be helping with the new record "from top to bottom," Paak said. "He's in there producing beats. He's in there producing melodies, writing, ideas on sequencing, everything."
