Chart Data reports that YBN Nahmir's "Rubbin Off the Paint" was certified platinum this morning, but the news coincides with an upsetting update for the Birmingham, Alabama rapper. In an Instagram story posted Wednesday night, Nahmir told fans that the principal of his school, Clay-Chalkville High School, would not be allowing him to walk the stage during what should have been his graduation.

"I'm a few points shy of course completion, and the Principal told me he will mail my diploma a week after graduation," Nahmir wrote in a screenshot. "I left tour just to fulfill my REAL dream of walking across the graduation stage. I worked hard for this, even donated money to my community. Tryna give my Momma and family this moment."

Nahmir then asked fans to "help my dream come true'" by using the hashtag #LetNahmirWalk to gather support; the school's principal has yet to respond to the social media requests on Nahmir's behalf. According to a livestream of the school's ceremony, he was not able to walk. The FADER has reached out to representatives of YBN Nahmir for comment.
