Months after a school shooter killed 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida, students at the school continue to fight against gun violence in the United States. But they are also doing the things that high school students normally do: graduate high school. During the graduation ceremony, Jimmy Fallon made a surprise appearance, offering a bit of brevity and words of wisdom.

"The first thing is this: when something feels hard, remember that it gets better. Choose to move forward. Don't let anything stop you," he said. He also made a Laurel/Yanny joke. "Some of you will grow up to hear Yanny, some of you will grow up to hear Laurel, but the most important thing for you to know is that neither of these things will matter by the end of the summer."

He ended the speech thanking the students for their bravery. Watch a snippet of the speech below.
