Facebook Watch's teen drama series SKAM Austin has been renewed for a second season, Variety reports. The USA-based remake of the Norwegian program premiered in April, and we followed along with a weekly recap. Watch the season one trailer above.
The show encompassed scripted episodes as well as events and postings on the Instagram profiles of the characters. That format will reportedly return in season two. “I’m delighted to be producing a second season of SKAM Austin with Facebook,” executive producer Simon Fuller said in a statement. “This is a new way of story-telling in America, it’s intimate and immersive. The idea of a scripted show playing out in real time is difficult and complex to produce so we’re lucky to have the original Norwegian team helping shape it with such diligence and attention."
