Chicago band The Orwells have announced their split in the same week they were forced to deny multiple allegations of sexual misconduct against three members of the group. A tweet from the group's official Twitter account sent on August 29 reads: "The Orwells have disbanded." The FADER has reached out for further information.
On Monday the band canceled a show in Chicago after allegations against frontman Mario Cuomo, plus Henry Brinner, and Grant Brinner surfaced online. The band denied the allegations in a statement issued the same day.
The band members have been accused of sexual assault, sexual interactions with underage girls, and sending unsolicited nude photos and videos by multiple people.
