Michigan has opted to legalize cannabis for recreational use, while Utah and Missouri have legalized marijuana on a medical level. This brings the growing number of states with legalized medical marijuana to 33, while 10 states — including Washington D.C. — have legalize weed for recreational use. The Verge also points out that Michigan residents aged 21 and older will be able to buy and possess marijuana, and grow up to 12 plants in their home.

In North Dakota, voters opted against legalizing marijuana recreationally. The plant is already legal for medical use in the state.
