JAY-Z demands halt to legal dispute over lack of diversity

The rap mogul argues that there is not enough diversity among the arbitrators selected for the proceedings.

JAY-Z has reportedly demanded a halt to an ongoing legal battle with Iconix Brand Group, Billboard reports. The rap-mogul and his legal team have reportedly filed a restraining order against Iconix, arguing that their is a lack of diversity on the list of potential arbitrators on the case. TMZ reports that of the 200 potential candidates, none of them are black.

Iconix reportedly paid over $200 million for the rights to merchandising the Roc Nation logo. The brand sued JAY after the logo found its way onto MLB apparel. TMZ points out that the two parties have opted to settle the case in arbitration instead of in open court.
