Noname shares “Blaxploitation” music video

Room 25 is out now.

December 04, 2018

Noname is dropping her first-ever music video today, and it's for "Blaxploitation," a track on her excellent recent album Room 25. The song's explicitly political content is weaved seamlessly into a jazzy groove, and the visuals are also able to link charm and message – director Alex Lill creates an homage to classic Godzilla movies starring a cute black child. While his presence in the city seems harmless to us, the hysterical white families watching on the news seem to be inflating him into something to be feared. Watch above.

In October, Noname played three songs from Room 25 on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
