David Guetta explains his close relationship with house music over the years

David Guetta genuinely loves music. As a young man in France, the DJ-turned-producer became fascinated with house music and its surrounding culture from the States. The initial interest soon took a hold of his life and would be the guiding light for the rest of his nearly 40-year career.

While in NYC, Guetta stopped by The FADER office to give us a brief yet comprehensive history of how he helped facilitate house music's infiltration into France's gay club scene, booking legends from America like Frankie Knuckles, and the pushback he received from other house artists for his unique take on production, an incorporation of pop and hip-hop elements that would yield some of Guetta's biggest hits.
