Nicki Minaj's Beats 1 show Queen Radio is back, bringing along with it two new freestyles from the rapper. After an hour-long delay, Nicki moved right into the new music at the top of the show, the first being "Barbie Drip", a freestyle over Lil Baby & Gunna's "Drip Too Hard", followed by "Barbie Gon Bad", a take on Meek Mill and Drake's "Going Bad".
From referencing Meek's legal woes to bragging about her successes, both freestyles are generating buzz for more reasons than one, as listeners noted she took swipes at an artist she says is biting her style. "Imitating Nicki, while your ghostwriter dissin' me," she raps, though doesn't mention any names.
The rapper went on to imply that she'd be dropping a weekly freestyle until the "fifth thing-thing," potentially a reference to her fifth studio album - which, as Complex pointed out, might already be completed. "The label hit me said they want the fifth thing thing, I got in the studio, I did the fifth thing thing/And then they say, 'You know, it's time to drop your single'/I said 'No, you know radio already tried to blackball a bitch.'"
