For his 31st birthday, Big Sean decided to give fans a bit of insight into the struggles that he's faced over the past year. In a series of Instagram videos, the Detroit musician shared taht he's been dealing with bouts of anxiety and depression, Buzzfeed points out.
Sean first revealed that he wasn't feeling like himself, saying, "I couldn’t figure out why. I just felt lost and I don’t know how I got there.”
He explained to fans that he ultimately found help through a therapist after meditation (something he says he's been doing since he was 17) wasn't working like it used to. “I got a good therapist," Sean said. "I was blessed enough to talk to some super spiritual people. They made me realize one thing I was missing in my life, and the one thing I was missing was clarity.”
He concluded by saying that he began finding the time to do things to nourish himself first, explaining that he would do things like go skydiving by himself. “In the midst I definitely rediscovered myself, found a whole new energy, and me being a source of it and not somebody else,” Sean said.
