One of Europe's biggest music festivals will take on North America in 2020, as Primavera Sound announced its Los Angeles festival on September 19th and 20th at Los Angeles State Historic Park. A longtime favorite among music aficionados, the festival currently runs in Barcelona and Porto, Portugal. Heading into its 20th year, the festival partnered with Live Nation to head stateside.

“Our goal is to bring the Primavera Sound spirit and vibe to cities with a similar feel: creative, colorful and welcoming. And with this, to give something new to the city, to show a new side and new possibilities to be built and harvested together," said festival co-director Gabi Ruiz in a press release. Though no line up has been released just yet, the festival promises it will feature "icons of today and artists of tomorrow", as well as a continued public commitment to gender equality, as over half of this year's 200+ acts were fronted by women.

This year's Barcelona festival boasted headliners including Solange, Rosalía, Nas, FKA Twigs, Future, Tame Impala, Interpol, Christine and the Queens, Charli XCX, Robyn and more. If you're into last-minute trips, many of the weekend's biggest acts will also take the stage for the Porto, Portugal edition of the festival, Nos Primavera Sound, from June 6-8.

A small number of early bird tickets will go on sale June 7, 2019.
