Dublin's Girl Band have confirmed details of their second album. The Talkies will be released on September 27 via Rough Trade Records. The abstract and heavily choreographed video for new song "Shoulderblades" can be seen below.
The Talkies is the Irish band's follow-up to their 2015 debut, Holding Hands With Jamie. It was recorded in November 2018 at Ballintubbert House, a stately home on the outskirts of Dublin, and produced by Daniel Fox of the band.
In a statement released alongside the album announcement, Girl Band said that pulling a series of live dates in 2017 for health reasons helped shape the sound of the record. “After we cancelled the last tour we weren’t really writing together as much anymore so we were more into demoing and writing down parts then cutting them up, collaging them together in the computer and reconfiguring them that way”.
The band have also announced a series of tour dates in both North America and Europe. Scroll down for the full schedule.
