San Francisco, CA festival Outside Lands has announced that this year’s event will be the first major music festival in the United States to allow weed sales and consumption onsite. According to the Los Angeles Times, the California state Bureau of Cannabis Control has OK’d the use and sale of cannabis to patrons who are over 21, provided it occurs in a fenced-off festival area away from other patrons. This area at the festival will be called “Grass Lands.”

“Cannabis is part of our culture — particularly at music festivals — and it makes sense to allow people to obtain it legally,” Democratic state senator Scott Weiner told the Times, “We need to move past prohibition.” This year’s Outside Lands, the 12th edition, features headliners Paul Simon, Twenty One Pilots and Childish Gambino, as well as Flume, Kacey Musgraves, and more.
