“That venom is no joke.”

Mike Posner had to be airlifted to hospital after being bitten by a snake during a cross-country walk. Posner is in the middle of walking across America, releasing a new song in each state that he arrives in. However, that mission hit a snag in Colorado on Thursday when he was attacked by a rattlesnake.

Writing alongside a video from the hospital, Posner wrote: "Crazy day yesterday! I had just crushed 16 miles and was going for 8 more when I got bit by a baby rattlesnake! 🐍 That venom is no joke! I got to the hospital and got the anti-venom in time."

He added that he'll "be here a few days and will not be able to walk for several weeks but enjoying the AC and the nice bed" while vowing to continue his mission once he's back to full fitness.

Posner began his hike in April, starting in Asbury Park, New Jersey. His original plan was to walk 20 miles a day, with the goal of reaching California in September. At the time of his rattlenake incident he was on mile 1,800 of 2,833, according to his Instagram bio.
