Bon Iver just dropped new album i,i and Justin Vernon has given an in-depth interview to Pitchfork. The interview goes in some pretty wild directions but among the most news-worthy is Vernon's opinion on former collaborator, Kanye West. Unsurprisingly, it seems that Vernon is not keen on Kanye's assosciation with Trump and all things MAGA. “I can’t really kick it with him anymore on a personal level, just the energy,” Vernon said. “But I’ve got mad love for him, and we’re still friends.”

It is pointed out that Vernon is drawn to Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren as his preferred Democrat, and that he is planning to tour his native Wisconsin in October 2020 supporting whoever the Democratic candidate is going into the election. Wisconsin is likely to be key to the election, with the state voting Republican in 2016.

Elsewhere in the feature it is revealed that Vernon owns a Tesla, which he nicknames John Teshla, and that he's planning to start a clothing company. Said company will be a lo-fi affair, started "by purchasing a shipping container full of old clothes and making 'weird recycled fashion' with a pair of scissors," Vernon said.

Vernon also comes out as a major fan of John Mayer, with whom he performed with during a Dead & Company show in 2018. “I am fully in on John Mayer,” Vernon said, admitting he took acid before getting on stage. “Hats off to that motherfucker.”
