It's difficult to remember that there once was a time, way back in April, when Lil Nas X didn't have the No. 1 song in the country. 19 weeks and several broken records later, he's officially been dethroned. Today, Billboard formally deemed Billie Eilish's "bad guy" the No. 1 song in the country. Ahead of its coronation, the song held the record for most consecutive weeks at No. 2. Eilish's new position sets her up for a fresh milestone: the first artist born in the 2000s to nab a No. 1 hit.

The song opens Eilish's debut album WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? which arrived this spring. Last month, she reignited its chart placement by dropping a new remix of the track with vocals from Justin Bieber. Lil Nas X congratulated Eilish on the achievement, tweeting "u deserve it."
