Kele Okerke of Bloc Party announces new solo album <I>2042</i> Kele   Asia Werbel

Bloc Party frontman Kele Okereke has confirmed details of new album 2042. The album is Okereke's fourth solo effort and will be released on November 8, via his own KOLA label. You can hear lead single "Jungle Bunny" below.

In a statement, Okereke said of the song: “There is a history of black entertainers feeling that after they have achieved a certain level of success that they are above discussions of race but that idea is a delusion. As a person of colour living in the western world, it does not matter how much wealth one accumulates, race will follow you wherever you go. With 'Jungle Bunny' I wanted explore this idea: In a time of such rampant division and public racism, what is the responsibility of the black entertainer?"

2042 is Okereke's first album since Fatherland was released in 2017. His previous two efforts, Trick and The Boxer, were released in 2014 and 2010 respectively.
