"Troublemaker" is the name Nyong'o raps under, a moniker she said was given to her by Common. The light-hearted rap alter-ego was last heard back in 2016 when she hit Instagram with a freestyle over Nas’ “N.Y. State Of Mind.” You can check out her latest freestyle above.

Nyong'o also discussed what it felt like to be mentioned in the lyrics to Beyoncé’s “Brown Skin Girl," something she learned of via a British journalist. “Queen Bee does not tell anyone anything,” she joked. “I was in London and I was doing a press junket for a documentary I did called Warrior Women and the first journalist is just interviewing me and she said, ‘How do you feel now that you’re a Beyoncé lyric?’ I was like, ‘What are you talking about?'”
