Sub Pop has shared two new singles from Julien Baker. "Tokyo" and "Sucker Punch" are part of the Sub Pop Singles Club, a series of 7" vinyl records that are now (bummer) totally sold out. The songs are typically devastating and death-obsessed, particularly "Tokyo," which rises from a whisper to a howl the way that Baker's most affecting songs tend to. "Sucker Punch" is a little different, bolstered by an acoustic guitar and some echoey feedback. Listen to them both below.
Baker's last solo LP, Turn Out the Lights, came out in 2017. She also collaborated with Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus for last year's (excellent) boygenius album.
