The Ariana Grande collaborator and co-writer steps out on her own.

Up to this point Victoria Monét's name has mainly been assosciated with Ariana Grande's, and for good reason. Monét co-wrote songs like "thank u, next" and "7 rings" while the pair collaborated on "Monopoly" earlier this year. Now, however, Monét is stepping out on her own with new single "Ass Like That." The song can be heard above alongside a lyric video inspired by 1970s workout tutorials.

Speaking about the song in a statement, Monét said: "To me, ass like that is an empowering song. I had goals I wanted to accomplish in the gym. I wanted to be strong enough to talk about my own body the way do in rap. I reserve and deserve the right to talk about it without the world's approval. They never asked for mine when they comment they never ask for ours."

Monét will also appear on the Charlie's Angels soundtrack, again alongside Ariana Grande, when it drops on November 1.
