This Halloween, Ellen DeGeneres decided that the best way to get peoples' mind off the recent backlash to her proud friendship with literal George W. Bush was to dress up as Cardi B. And instead of replicating one of the rapper's well-known music video looks, DeGeneres's costume hinged on a long blonde wig, cartoonish breast plates, and a lot of tongue-wagging. This being The Ellen Show, the real Cardi B was obviously waiting backstage to give an official stamp of approval.
But once the real Cardi comes out, somehow things started feel even more sinister. Maybe it's the more-than-one-too-many okurrrs. Maybe it's the sheer audacity of Ellen asking Cardi to teach her to twerk. Maybe it's a force darker than all of that. Either way, taken as a whole, the six-minute clip feels like one of the most unequivocally disturbing things to have arrived this Halloween. Watch it above, but don't say we didn't warn you.
