Sharna Bass won’t accept second best on “Worth It”

Fresh from supporting Summer Walker on tour, the London-based R&B singer drops her new video.

Self-taught pianist Sharna Bass opens her "Worth It" video behind the keys as she spells out her manifesto of embracing life, taking chances, and never accepting less than the very best. Her piano playing adds texture to a bass heavy beat over which the London-based R&B singer says she is "always direct, never on the low" as if it wasn't already strikingly clear.

Bass recently opened for Summer Walker on the European leg of her tour and there's a shared DNA between the two in their diaristic approach to writing. Speaking about "Worth It" via email, Bass told The Fader the song was written while, “I was having a couple of drinks and felt the vibe of the beat so started to write about all the things in life that are worth living for.”

Check out the "Worth It" video above. Bass's upcoming EP Beautiful Chaos is due in January 2020.
