Kendra Malia, lead singer for New York witch house group White Ring, has died, Brooklyn Vegan reports. The band posted on White Ring’s Facebook page: “On October 31st 2019 Kendra Malia left us, I really don’t know what else to say at the moment except I love you Kendra. KENDRA FOREVER.” A representative for White Ring’s record label told Pitchfork that she died in Washington, her home state, and was 37 years old at the time of her passing. Her cause of death has not been disclosed. Malia first began releasing music with White Ring in the early 2010s, after she formed the group Bryan Kurkimilis. The two had met on MySpace. A seven year hiatus followed, partially the result of Mailia’s health issues, according to AllMusic. But in 2018 the band returned with Gate of Grief, and this year released Chaind Volume 2 (Flooded).
