Toronto-based duo Tush released their latest single, the slow-burning, dancefloor-ready "Don't Be Afraid" on Friday. The song's pulsing opening builds to its gospel-infused apex, propelled by lead singer Kamilah Apong's powerful vocals. The song, which Apong explains was written in a casino parking lot in rural Alberta, is about "having the courage to love defiantly, urgently, and with intention."

"I wrote this while I was living in an RV, huddled up writing the arrangements and sending the track back to [producer and Tush bandmate] Jamie Kidd to work on," she went on to explain. "I was exploring if loving someone else, could be the same as loving yourself."

The clip finds Apong working through her relationship with her ego, its two sides working at first against and then with each other. "By the end of the video, I realize that I don't have to make this some kind of battle. Blue-sea witchy Kamilah and practical business suit Kamilah can, and will, coincide: there is room to love myself in all of my ways of being."
