One of the many standout moments on (Sandy) Alex G's phenomenal House of Sugar comes eight tracks deep, when he opts for a cartoonishly Southern accent on "Bad Man." "It started out just acoustic guitar and then I did a version just on piano and it was just so corny every time," Giannascoli told PASTE of the track. "I guess I was just like, ‘Fuck this song. This song is so corny.’ So I just leaned into the corniness as hard as possible."
Today, he's sharing one of those alternate versions, a version that nixes the accent in exchange for a swooping, Americana-indebted palette. Hear it in a new, Zev Magasis-directed video below. Giannascoli has also detailed an upcoming North American tour surrounding his sets at Coachella. Peep all the dates below.
