Rising Miami reggaeton singer Mariah has spent the past year drip-feeding her swelling fanbase with a series of increasingly huge singles, including collaborations with Casper Magico, Myke Towers, Jhay Cortez, Arcangel and more, culminating in “Perreito,” a surprise hit that’s already racked up 41 million streams on Spotify alone. Today, she’s releasing the sleek, exhilarating “Taxi,” alongside its neo-noirish video, premiering exclusively on The FADER. A collaboration with Puerto Rican reggaeton upstart Guaynaa, the video for “Taxi” finds Guaynaa casting the role of a taxi driver who has to pick up a series of increasingly rowdy passengers — including Mariah. Anchored by the push-pull of Mariah and Guaynaa’s wry, laconic raps, it’s the kind of track that has the potential to turn an average car ride into a wild one.

“Working on Taxi was so fun! Guaynaa is hilarious and such a creative. Me encanta trabajar con gente who I can vibe with and just be myself,” she tells The FADER of the song via email. “I hope you all enjoy the song and video as much as I did. Sincerely, la princesa de Miami.” Watch the video for “Taxi” above.
