Alt-pop trio lovelytheband recently dropped their single "loneliness for love" on Friday, a new wave-inspired cut that sees the band in some desperate need for human connection. The new wave-leaning track is guided by a pulsating guitar and synth breaks. "I keep mistaking loneliness for love / I'm trying to find myself in someone," lead singer Mitchy Collins sings on the track.

The dreamy video finds Collins on a series of dates with a number of curiously well-dressed mannequins, cutting back and forth between the band playing in a nearby storefront window. "In my dating life, I constantly keep falling back into a cycle or a pattern," Collins explained about the song and video via email. "I'll meet someone and think I'm falling in love, because I'm trying to fill the void of being alone. I have a big problem with looking to other people to fill what I feel is lacking or missing inside of me. So, I jump into situations out of loneliness. I'm digging deep and reflecting. The song is literally me singing to loneliness."
