Jean Dawson is having the most fun with his music. His blend of pop melodies and hip-hop production is perfect for 2020 and today he shares "Bruise Boy," his first new material since 2019 project Bad Sports. In the "BRUISE BOY" video, directors Zachary Bailey and Mikayel provide several interpretations of what Dawson's dreams might look like based on the hook, "You saw my dreams and you saw your face." A few iterations include bright neon flashes, swirly face distortion similar to a Van Gogh piece, and a blacked out blob with no distinguishable features.

Dawson switches between singing his heart out and rapping, which speaks to his love for rock and rap growing up between Tijuana and San Diego. He's also aware of the other kids just like him which he explained in an email about "BRUISE BOY": "For the kids like me."
